John Aremu, DMD, MPH
Dr. John Aremu has dedicated over 12 years to clinical dentistry developing a global reputation for excellent, compassionate, and comprehensive patient care. He graduated with honors from Boston University School of Dental Medicine, earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. He also earned his Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Harvard University. His outstanding leadership and academic achievements were recognized by the American Dental Education Association, which honored him for excellence in preventive dentistry.
Dr. Aremu is a gentle and empathetic dentist who is passionate about providing comprehensive oral health care to the whole family. His mission is to provide non-judgmental oral care to everyone in a relaxed atmosphere. Since becoming a dentist, he has worked in private practice in Eastern Massachusetts, Central Massachusetts, and Northern Maine.
In addition, Dr. Aremu is committed to public health education, advocacy, and community engagement. He previously served as a faculty member at Princeton University as well as Rutgers University where he contributed to the education of undergraduate and graduate students in epidemiology and global health. He frequently volunteers in underserved communities focusing on dental health education, and has made significant research contributions to the associations between dental infections and cardiovascular diseases.
Dr. Aremu is dedicated to ongoing continuing education, and advanced training in all aspects of dentistry including implant dentistry, orthodontics (braces), oral surgery, prosthodontics (crowns, bridges, and dentures), endodontics (root canal treatment), full mouth rehabilitation, cosmetic dentistry, and digital dentistry. He is also a certified Invisalign® provider, offering patients effective methods of achieving perfect smiles. Dr. Aremu is an active member of the AmericanDental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Massachusetts Dental Society.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Aremu enjoys outdoor activities including camping, bowling, walking, fishing, traveling and playing tennis. He loves to spend time with his wife, Mary, and three children.
Stephen McGrail, DMD
Dr. Stephen McGrail completed his undergraduate degree at College of the Holy Cross, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry. He then pursued dentistry, and graduate with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Tufts University in 1981.
After graduating from Tufts University, Dr. McGrail moved to Cape Cod and has been in private practice in Yarmouth for over 43 years. He frequently participates in continuing education courses focusing on implant restoration, treatment planning, and esthetic dentistry. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Massachusetts Dental Society.
Dr. McGrail loves living and working on Cape Cod. He is married to Pat and has four children. He and his wife enjoy camping, boating, fishing and spoiling their nine grandchildren. His hobbies include tinkering on antique auto mobiles, snowmobiling, and flying.
LaVerne Lopes
Dental Assistant
LaVerne has been a Certified Dental Assistant for over 25 years, 23 of those years being in endodontics and 2 in general dentistry. She is always striving to do better and regularly participates in continuing education courses.
LaVerne was taught by the very best and she became skillful and efficient at her job knowing exactly what the Doctor needs before asking. She is a determined and focused positive soul. She loves her job and feels extremely blessed to be in a career that literally makes people smile.
LaVerne takes pride in making sure her patients are comfortable and feel at ease and less anxious in the dental chair, letting them know about the amazing team at Yarmouth Smiles that works incredibly well together to ensure the best quality of care.
LaVerne is a proud mother of 3 beautiful daughters who mean the world to her. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and loved ones cherishing all that life has blessed her with!
Deb Boden
Dental Hygienist
Deb earned her Dental Hygiene degree from Westbrook college in Portland, Maine. She has over 25 years of experience and she is certified in the use of local anesthesia. Throughout Deb’s career, she has attended numerous continuing education courses. This commitment to ongoing learning ensures that she remains at the forefront of industry trends and equipped to deliver the highest quality of care to her patients. She is committed to making each patient’s dental visit a positive and educational experience.
In addition to work, Deb likes to cook and spend time on the beach. She and her husband have 2 sons and golden doodle which occupies their time.
Dawn Lombard
Dental Hygienist
Dawn has worked as a dental hygienist for the past 18 years. She is very passionate about her job and all of her patients. She believes in a gentle but thorough approach to dental care. Her goal is to provide quality care while educating her patients to be as healthy as possible.
When Dawn is not in the office, she loves exploring the great outdoors with her husband, trying out new recipes, as well as spending time with family and friends. Dawn truly loves being a hygienist, but her first love is being a mom to her two boys. They are her greatest accomplishments.
Tracie Crowley
Office Manager
Tracie is a happily married mom with 2 wonderful daughters, an amazing grand-daughter and some precious grand dogs. She graduated from Keene State College and started her career as an elementary school teacher. Once she moved to the Cape Cod, she realized she preferred to work with adults. She spent many years working in support and training for a dental software company. An opportunity opened up for her to work with Dr. McGrail in his practice where she discovered how much she enjoyed the challenges and relationships she encountered working directly with patients. It’s been 26 years with this practice and she is looking forward to many more years with Dr. Aremu and the amazing staff.
